Moskatchka (from Moskaw district) is the nick-name of one of most interesting districts in Riga. In the beginning of 20th century – a working-class district, in the WWII – a concentration camp for Jews, during the Soviet times – favorite district for Russian immigrants. It is considered to be one of most dangerous districts in Riga, but it has its special beauty as well.
