THE FILM focuses at everyday life in the countryside of Latvia, at festivities and the history of Latvian countryside connected with its unconscious wish to take after the elitarian European culture, which brings grotesque accents in the film.In the village of Gaujiena we find Paris, Rome, London, and Berlin. Such names for the farms of the vicinity were given by baron Wulf, a German, whose buttler?s son is inviting local people to the baron?s maanor house to celebrate properly the opening of the Centre of the Europe in Gaujiena. Everyone in Paris, London, Rome and Berlin is getting ready for the opening ceremony of the local centre of Europe.
